A 15,000-square-foot, three-level home for a family of five that blends Colorado rustic with clean contemporary lines, designed to be fully accessible without looking the part: barn-style doors, extra-wide hallways, walk-in showers and a hidden over-bed lift in the primary suite. Archistructure was the general contractor, with Brad Brown’s barrier-free expertise shaping the plan.

A three-level, Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired home built to be barrier-free without looking it: an elevator, a ceiling track lift disguised as architecture, touch-activated faucets, curbless showers, three-foot doorways and lit pathways through every room. By 2015 Brad Brown had been building luxury barrier-free residences for fifteen years, including homes for two quadriplegics, starting with the 2000 Symphony Show House.

Archistructure’s entry at Flatwater Lake: a two-story, 3,974-square-foot California Modern with a 20-foot entry under a wood vaulted ceiling, a main-floor primary suite with custom closet, two private guest suites and a lake-view media room upstairs, and a four-plus-car garage with a 12-foot door. Judges named it Best Primary Suite, Best Kitchen, Best Interior Design, Best Landscaping and Best Floor Plan, the most awards of the show.
